to Benefit Argentinean Jewish
Orphanage: IELADEINU at The Argentian Consulate of New York Young Professionals Raised Awareness and Necessary Funding, Believing that in Harsh Economic Times Such as Today, the Need to Give is Greater Than Ever.
Praised by UNICEF as the most innovative project of its kind in Latin America, Ieladeinu gives hope to the Jewish communities of Argentina by rescuing Jewish children from the streets and from broken homes and providing them with the promise of a better tomorrow.
On January 15th 2009, Sensi6 invited guests to awaken their senses to the distinct charm of Argentinean culture, as they showcased Argentinean cuisine, fine wines, music, and art at the Argentinean Consulate in New York. The live auction was conducted by Jennifer Roth, Senior Vice President and Director of Sotheby’s, and dinner was catered by Scoop Events. Additional sponsors included Royal Kosher Wines, Delta Airlines, Christian Lacroix, Phillip Stein, Heeb Magazine, and many others.
Most of all the evening’s aim was to awaken the sixth sense, namely the sense to give. All proceeds from the evening benefited an organization that rescues Jewish children from abusive homes, or from the streets, providing shelter, schooling, food, clothing, medical attention and whatever is needed to ensure a better future for the children. Individuals who attend the event had the opportunity to give in different ways: by making a donation, bidding on art, or purchasing wine. Art auctioned at the event was graciously donated in full by Argentinean artists including the late Antonio Berni, Mondongo (the Argentine-based trio of Agustina Picasso (1977), Manuel Mendanha (1976), Juliana y Laffitte (1974), Maria Bonedo, Constanza Piaggio and Roberto Saban.

About Ieladeinu:
IELADEINU is the only program of its kind created within the argentine Jewish Community aimed at protecting children and adolescents at risk, including children who are exposed to mistreatment, and physical abuse. Their dream is that each and every one of these children should grow up in a safe and secure environment with the opportunity to focus on their future. UNICEF has described the organization as the most innovative project in Latin America and is showcasing Ieladeinu’s program as a model for other such organizations. Recently, UNICEF has sponsored the writing of a book on Ieladeinu to help spread their successes and unique approach to other organizations.
