Statue of Liberty Chinese Art Exhibit that Brightens Up the World Celebrates the 121st Anniversary of Statue of Liberty- Frank Mills Deputy Superintendent speaks to Good News about this historic event. Inc. What: 20 Art Pieces inspired by the Statue of Liberty done by Chinese artists that share the inspiration of freedom of Wu Li’s children’s fantasy book The Holy Spark. Wu Li, was inspired to write a children’s book about the Statue of Liberty when she saw Lady Liberty on Chinese television covering the monument’s centennial. She spent several years writing a fantasy-filled novel The Holy Spark and had its Chinese edition published in 1993. Since then, she came to the United States to present a special “deluxe” edition to the Ellis Island Museum in New York, which inducted it into its permanent collection. Designed by Yu Li and signed by United Nations officials and representative from more than 180 countries, the “deluxe” edition of The Holy Spark is the only item the museum has ever sourced from China since World War II. Artists have given spirits and life to the Statue of Liberty by using their rich imaginations and different styles of colorful arts fully expressed the touching story lines in the children’s story book The Holy Sparks in order to save the people who have lost their freedoms, the little angel Rogel has gone through numerous troubles and difficulties, beat down a lot of monsters and finally found the Goddess of Freedom. On the birthday of The Goddess of Freedom, he used the holy Spark and lightened up the torch of freedom, suddenly the miracle happened. Princesses from the Kingdom of Torch came back to lives from the flame of the torch. They have regained their lives and freedom in the flame of the freedom, and flew to a wonderful free kingdom. The Holy Sparks is a fairy tale that pursues freedom and peace. It teaches all of the children to be kind and friendly, give up hatred, and face difficulties bravely, and forever pursue freedom. The 20 artist’s exhibiting paint strokes reveal the extraordinary and touchy scenes of the fairy tale.
