Being an antique collector, Venetian and Murano glass beads had a special lure for their beauty and history. Stemming from her spiritual side, a yoga and meditation practice, grew an interest in chakras and healing stone jewelry. Rose Quartz, Jasper, Carnelian, Sodalite, Azurite are just a few of the stones used. Usually complemented by a sterling silver or vermeil flower or butterfly, perhaps a Celtic triangle…an Ohm or lotus, a tree of life or mandala…resulting in unique wearable art. Drawn to its vivid colors and sparkle, and the amazing colors when finished with the rainbow appearance of aurora borealis coatings, Swarovski crystal jewelry was chosen. Fascinated by handmade lampwork beads, the history of lampworking, and the challenging work involved–melting glass rods with a torch creating molten glass, allowing the artist to shape the glass and create a unique bead of many colors, dimensions and decorations–designing jewelry using these lampwork beads became a favorite. The vivid colors of Czech glass are used in many of her designs.
