meal will warm a heart.
THE TASTE OF HOME COOKBOOK, COOKS WHO CARE EDITION, launching September 8, 2009, showcases stories from individuals who used a recipe to touch a soul and change a life. The Taste of Home Cookbook became an instant best-seller, with nearly 2 million copies sold, through a neighborly exchange of reader-submitted recipes, stories, and tips from home cooks across the country. The Taste of Home Cookbook, Cooks Who Care Edition will offer more recipes and color photos and feature 21 moving stories of Cooks Who Care, people who are helping others through food-related efforts. Taste of Home ran its first Cooks Who Care story in October 2006, and promptly turned it into a regular feature in the magazine, said Catherine Cassidy, Editor-in-Chief of Taste of Home. In this edition of The Taste of Home Cookbook, we added new features and included the 21 Cooks Who Care stories to celebrate the people who have selflessly performed charitable acts to give back to their communities Included with the cookbook is exclusive web content at www.tasteofhome.com featuring 349 additional recipes; 30 how-to videos demonstrating specific techniques or recipes; and community boards that allow visitors to share their own Cooks Who Care stories. The Taste of Home Cookbook, Cooks Who Care Edition is a practical 5-ring binder that lies flat as you cook and comes filled with extra goodies like tabbed chapter dividers and snap-in splashguards to protect the pages. There are clear prep and cook times and complete nutrition facts for each recipe. The books detailed cooking instructions and how-to photos filleting a fish, boning a chicken, stuffing a turkey make prep even easier. The new Taste of Home Cookbook features over 1,300 recipes that are easy to make, budget-friendly and, most importantly, work every time. The ingredients in the recipes come from regular grocery stores; and each is tested in the Taste of Home Test Kitchen (outfitted with appliances just like you would find in most American homes). The cookbook offers what the magazines editors and test kitchen experts feel are the best of the best from their 40,000-plus recipe database and is a must-have resource for any home cook. Touched by food-for-the-soul stories, Taste of Home proudly developed a nationwide Cooks Who Care initiative, with hope that others will be inspired to give back as well. As part of the program, Taste of Home has dedicated the second week of November as National Cooks Who Care Week, to annually celebrate individuals who have helped others through home cooking. To support this initiative, The Taste of Home Cookbook, Cooks Who Care Edition comes with a web code to access the Cooks Who Care recipes and additional information for anyone who would like to start a local Cooks Who Care effort; log on to www.tasteofhome.com/cooks-who-care. The Taste of Home Cookbook, Cooks Who Care Edition is more than a cookbook. Its a reflection of the caring and sharing home cooks across America serve up every day. Whether youre making dinner for the family, planning a celebration with friends or baking cookies to raise money for someone in need, The Taste of Home Cookbook, Cooks Who Care Edition has recipes for every occasion. The new cookbook celebrates the delight and comfort we find at the table, the deep connection between food and family, and the difference a small gesture such as a homemade meal can make all of which happen with a recipe and a Cook Who Cares. # # # MEET THE TASTE OF HOME EDITORS Catherine M.
