That Is How I Left has received its
World Premiere in the 16th Annual New York International Fringe Festival-Fringe NYC-this August
Opening Night Review:
That Is How I Left is the most important and moving play I have ever seen. It confronts the darkest, most unspeakable aspects of a broken family and helps to explain how the unexplainable could happen. It wrenchingly approaches the terror of sexual abuse but offers a path to an even higher life for its innocent victims, as well as an understanding of how it can exist for those who have not been personally victimized. Every time this play is performed, it will change and save lives.

Two fresh voices in theater, Franco Moschetti and Michele Farbman, are proud to share a painfully true, transcendent story of forgiveness in the 16th Annual New York International Fringe Festival
A young man who died 16 years earlier, supposedly by suicide, is granted a meeting with the living members of his family to untangle the knots of grief that still bind them. In a nether space to which they are all summoned, the true and complex story of unbelievable abuse unfolds in raw truth and beautifully written language.
What makes the play even more unique is that the young man’s real life mother and sister play their roles onstage.
Not one word is wasted as the family’s story halts & swells in monologues that thread into dialogues, speaking plainly about abuse and forgiveness as Jordan, the abused young man who has died, moves between the living members of his family, offering his own side to the story, until he reveals the truth of “How He Left.”
That Is How I Left is being performed at The Living Theater, 21 Clinton St., between Avenue B & Houston Street. Run time 90 minutes with no intermission.

That is How I Left was a true testament to a family who shared their most sensitive aspects of their life with the world. Based on a true story, with the sister and mother of the young man who was taken advantage of truly spoke to the audience.
The sincerity of the actors, the entrance and exits of the characters, the music, the set, the “book” was perfect. This is a story of how family deals with tragedy and brings forgiveness into the world.
That is How I Left is a Good News Show. The audience is happy for the family who resolves the sadness in front of your eyes. It is a testament to the strength of the human character.
You will never forget this show, as it is sad, but the positive reaction to the sadness overshadows it and moves you to understand forgiveness, maybe like you never have.
