Friends,
The last few days we have looked into the sky and had an eerie feeling of an apocalypse raining down on us. Then yesterday, we experienced something that we all hope won’t come back anytime soon when the sun in the middle of the day turned a dull orange with a pinkish aurora around it. That’s when we all knew something really wasn’t right.
So we woke up this morning with the news that Canada has been ablaze for the past month coming from British Columbia across Canada setting off what seemed by a fire-cracker string of new forest fires that couldn’t be contained by human efforts alone. And that’s what we, especially here in the northeast, saw over the past two day with more days to come but hopefully not too many before it exits over the Atlantic Ocean headed for Europe.
I’ve put together the attached pdf of what this looked like over the past 2-3 days along with meteorological naps to show the path. The images, as you will see, are quite literally surreal. Hopefully by the tine it reachs Europe nuch of it will have dissipated.
As for us, if you are like us, fortunately we still have a supply of face-masks that we’ll be taking out – again (!) – to help us breathe.
Keep smiling, even if it is hidden by a mask (again!).
