The Interfaith Assembly on Homelessness and Housing’s
28th Annual Blessed Night Out
Interfaith Ceremony, City Hall Park All-Night Vigil, Morning Press Conference
Thursday, May 30th, 6:30 pm, St. Paul’s Chapel & City Hall Park, NYC!
Hello All-
Back in the late 80’s, I served on the board of The Interfaith Assembly on Homelessness & Housing while Rector of St. Clement’s Episcopal Church in Hell’s Kitchen. Founded in 1986 at The Cathedral of St. John, IAHH, is a coalition of religious organizations working with and on behalf of homeless, poorly-housed & at-risk individuals.
Every year the Assembly organizes an interfaith ceremonial service, followed by an all night vigil for housing justice in City Hall Park with a press conference with elected officials and faith leaders on the steps of City Hall in the morning.
My parish always participated and it was wild sleeping out all night under the halls of power in City Hall Park!
Now, coming back 20 years later, as Outreach & Event Coordinator for IAHH, I am helping to produce this profound event, Blessed Night Out!
