WHAT: Created in 1994 to honor those who have played a critical role in educating the public about the importance of sun protection, the Foundation’s 2011 Skin Sense Award Gala will honor:

• Melisse Shaban, CEO, StriVectin
• The Skin Cancer Foundation’s Photobiology Committee: Warwick L. Morison, MB, BS, MD, Chairman; John H. Epstein, MD; Heidi Jacobe, MD; Henry W. Lim, MD
and Steven Q. Wang, MD
Skin Sense Awards are given in recognition of exceptional achievement in skin health, including public education about sun protection and skin cancer prevention. All proceeds from the evening are used to expand The Skin Cancer Foundation’s public awareness programs.
WHO: This year’s 400+ attendees will include a mix of dermatologists, celebrities and beauty industry insiders. The Gala will be co-hosted by:
• Katie Couric – Best-selling author and television personality
• Sam Champion – Good Morning America Weather Anchor
• Jerry Penacoli – Correspondent, EXTRA TV
Notable guests expected to attend include Julia Stiles, Gretchen Mol, of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire; Nelsan Ellis of The Help and HBO’s True Blood; Kevin Navayne of CSI: New York; Academy Award-winning actresses Diane Wiest and Mercedes Ruehl; Tony Sirico, formerly of The Sopranos and Chris Nirschel, former Food Network Star contestant.
