Tom Ghent and Such As Us are dear friends and their chemistry will translate into an evening of warmth, great music and anecdotes that dig back into the Greenwich Village music scene of the ’60’s and ’70s. Tom not only sings, but his songs have been recorded by many artists including: Kris Kristofferson, Mama Cass, Rita Coolidge and a host of others. Nat Stuckey turned “Whiskey, Whiskey” into a country chart hit. For more info on Tom: www.sutherlandrecords.com , www.facebook.com/tomghent.
Such As Us will perform some of their older songs that have new arrangements and a couple of new songs from their brand new CD, entitled: “UP AGAINST THE BULL, FC!” The band members are activists. Some have had a hand in Occupy Wall Street demonstrations and Clearwater clean-ups. This progressive minded group is green and for human and animal rights. Their latest CD has a political theme, and intentionally was released on July 4th partly as a statement about Freedom of Speech. Such As Us is comprised of the following seasoned musicians from the New York/New Jersey area: Melissa (Missy) Connell, Chris Kitlan Burns, Gina Tlamsa, Carl Fortunato, Vivian (Viv) Stoll and Joni Note.
