By: Rochelle Zaltzman For the last decade, Toy Wishes has previewed thousands of toys to help find the best, the brightest, and the hottest toys each year to gladden the hearts of our little munchkins. The toy arena has grown in the last ten years. Now kids play in real worlds as well as virtual ones. Movies and TV have produced many new star characters and interactive ways of playing. Just as often, however, toys tap into the classic play patterns that have always engaged kids — building, pretending, creating and having fun. Paring down over 500 new toys to the “Hot Dozen” that most kids will probably wish to find under the tree this Christmas was surely a daunting task. So the team of adult testers actually played with the toys for many hours. Some of the favorites were various animals that move and act like their live counteparts — like an enormous dinosaur that kids can ride , a Lego mobile command center, Bratz Girlz that Rock, a hot new game called Bakugan Battle Arena, Disney Star Vocals, Animal Scramble for toddlers, etc. to name just a few. A most impressive exhibit that makes you wish you were a kid again. All the toys on display at the Javitz preview will be donated to needy children.
