Talk to the Man who’s Running 26 Miles a Day to Raise Awareness about A-T, a Rare & Heartbreaking Disease Ultra-runner and endurance coach Tim Borland is running 63 consecutive marathons in 63 days through 63 communities as part of the “A-T Cure Tour.” The final event of his “A-T Cure Tour” will be the New York Marathon on Nov. 3rd. Along the way, he’ll be running through Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville, Washington, Boston and other locations, pushing a stroller with a child suffering from A-T. His mission is raising money for the A-T Children’s Project, which funds and supports research on and awareness for this crippling disease called ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T). One in 40,000 babies is born with this progressive, degenerative disease that combines the symptoms of cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis and cancer. Children with A-T become wheelchair-bound by age 10. They often have trouble reading, speaking, and even eating. As Borland runs his way across America, he’s stopping along the way to talk to your audiences about his super-human feat, and the kids he hopes to help through this ultimate endurance challenge.
