WHAT IS IT? This elegant interactive card deck encased in a silver tin, contains 400 questions and interactions which provide a vital opportunity for Veterans to communicate, process, share and own their unique experiences of deployment with their loved ones, in a non-confrontational and reflective manner. No therapist is needed.
• There are two versions. The original version is designed for use by Veterans and their families (ages 14+),Veterans groups, clinics and programs, and for Veterans to utilize with their friends.
• There is also a version designed specifically for the military couple. This version provides a unique opportunity for Veterans and their partners to immediately reconnect, communicate authentically, reintegrate their relationship, and to reclaim their connection and passion.
“When I got back from Iraq I was absolutely shut down emotionally. My wife and I were not connecting. Warrior Spirit is remarkable, you just fall into the questions and effortlessly find yourself opening up. It truly helped my wife and I to bond together as a couple again.”
– Miguel Novoa, Iraq Veteran
“As a returning Iraq combat Veteran, my wife and I have found the questions in Warrior Spirit to seem to be designed to beginning the rediscovery of trust and common ground both of us had hoped for. I would recommend Warrior Spirit Mission Homefront as an essential ingredient for any couple.”
– Jim Enderle, Chief Hospital Corpsman (SW/AW)
Submarine Base, New London, CT.
“Playing Warrior Spirit made us realize why we fell in love to begin with, and that deep down inside my husband is still the same person he was before he went to Iraq. It was like magic, I had my husband back.”
– Awilda Martinez, wife of Iraq Veteran
WHY? What is our most basic and essential human need once our survival needs are met? Isn’t it crucial to feel connection and understanding with those close to us?
“Experiencing certain issues you think you’re alone because there is no one else out there who can relate. Warrior Spirit will help Veterans to open up and to understand what is going on inside, and to know they are not the only ones going through these difficulties. It will help a lot.”
– Kevin Elder, US Marine Corps, Corporal, Desert Storm
HOW?
• Warrior Spirit Mission Homefront provides the opportunity for the Veteran to tell their story, build trust, allow their defenses to dissolve, and to open to relationships with other participants.
• Designed by and for the members of the Profession of Arms who have courageously volunteered to become Warriors in defense of our nation, and for their families and loved ones who have supported them in their efforts, in order to provide an immediate bridge of understanding and true connection.
