Here’s to Soanya for stepping out of her NYC scholarly life and coming on this adventure with me! She supported me through hard times. People wonder how we got along stuck together in such a difficult environment for hundreds of days and I’ll say we never said an unkind word. Through it all Soanya believed in me and never complained or showed fear. Now that we have done the longest nonstop and she has been at sea consecutively longer than any woman in sailing history that I have ever heard of, I hope she can get her story out. She is already a great inspiration to many women. There are not often opportunities for a man and a woman to venture beyond the bounds of humankind into the unknown of nature and the mind. I feel lucky to have had Soanya. Fair winds blow the Schooner Anne east across the roaring forties. Reid
