4th Annual Day of Awareness & Peace Rally. Opening Ceremony at noon, Concert begins at 12:15pm Peace Rally starts at 3:00pm beginning with a moment of Silence for World Peace. We will hold all 200+ flags of all the countries in the United Nations and holding “Hugg A Planets” (pillows) representing the rest of the world and the animal & plant kingdom. We will also make a “Human Peace Sign”. All the countries of the UN agreed to this Day of International Peace, held annually, September 21.
(San Jose, CA – April 29, 2015) Just in time for the start of a new school year, the public is invited to an Anti-Bullying Day of Awareness in honor of a local (Latina) teen, Amanda Suzanne Brownell, left severely disabled after her suicide attempt at Del Mar High School in San Jose (December 11, 2008). But after over 4 + years, has returned to heaven 4/16/13. Her job here was done. All money raised goes to support Amanda Network presentations at local schools.
WHO: Several speakers including Amanda’s mother, Ann Solorio Brownell, Local support organizations and Non-Profits that serve our youth and families will be staffing tables and handing out information about their services. Several local celebrities available for autographs and “selfies”
WHAT: The 4th Annual Day of Awareness and PEACE Rally is presented by The Amanda Network, Anti-Bullying Campaign, Cambrian Park Lions (San Jose) and Peace Day Party. The event will feature local bands, silent auction items and a “prize drawing”. Food from different vendors will be available all day.
