Stepanek Peacemaker Award. Hosted by actress Rosie Perez and political satirist Mo Rocca with a concert featuring Jackson Browne and Nile Rodgers and Chic. Special guests little Steven Van Zandt, Donna D’Cruz and more. All to benefit the We Are Family Foundation.
Dinner, prepared by Chef Don Pintabona of Valentino’s on the Green and Chef Joe DiMaggio, Jr., with exquisite wines courtesy of Oriel Wines, and a live auction. Additionally, the foundation’s Music for a Cause will give guests the opportunity to purchase Apple iTunes mystery gift cards with the chance to win a number of exciting gifts.
Why: Funds raised at the Gala will support WAFFs mission and programs, including Three Dot DashWAFFs signature program to support teen leaders around the world who are actively working on projects that address basic human needs and promoting a more peaceful society.

WAFF embodies the message made famous by Desmond Tutu, If you want change, you must be the change. Following in this path, the Foundation will present three awards at the Gala Celebration Pastor James Wuye and Imam Muhammad Ashafa will receive the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Peacemaker Award for their efforts in promoting peace through interfaith understanding; Norma & Russ Ramsey will be honored with the Visionary Award for their philanthropic contributions in education, healthcare, and the arts; and Jackson Browne will receive the Humanitarian Award for his commitment to spreading peaceful messages through music and improving human welfare on a global basis. Browne will also perform later in the evening along with a lineup of musical guests including Nile Rodgers & CHIC and Little Steven Van Zandt from Bruce Springsteens E Street Band.
