Oceana Hampton’s Splash Party

Oceana held its second annual Hamptons Splash Party on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at the beachfront home of Margie and Michael Loeb in Southampton, New York. Oceana returned to the Hamptons after receiving an outpouring of support surrounding last year’s inaugural celebration.

Immersed in the luxury of this Southampton estate, guests were treated to an evening of hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and dancing alongside distinguished guests that included Actor and Author of Oceana Ted Danson. Guests also enjoyed a musical performance by The Honey Brothers featuring Oceana Ambassador Adrian Grenier. The evening was hosted by Honorary Chair and Oceana Board Member Susan Rockefeller, along with event co-chairs Margie and Michael Loeb, Mary Kathryn Navab, Lois Robbins and Andrew Zaro.

“The oceans cover 70 percent of our planet, but such a tiny portion of conservation dollars go towards protecting them. That’s why Oceana’s Splash Party is so important,” said Honorary Chair and Oceana Board Member Susan Rockefeller. “The support generated from events like Splash have helped establish Oceana as one of the most effective conservation organizations in the world. We’re excited to be back in the Hamptons celebrating our recent victories and educating the community about the many challenges that lie ahead.”

Special Guest Ted Danson held a VIP Reception at 6:30 pm which led into the main event at 7:30 pm. The evening culminated with a live performance by The Honey Brothers.

“The Hamptons is a community that is deeply connected to the ocean and one that really understands the urgency in protecting it. This is a distinguished group of individuals who have proven themselves to be committed ocean stewards, and for that, I am thrilled to be celebrating Oceana alongside them,” said Oceana Board Member Ted Danson.

Limited tickets were available for the VIP Champagne Reception, hosted by Ted Danson, for $750. Main Event tickets were available for $500.

“Through Oceana’s Splash Party, the Hamptons give back to the ocean, which helps make this such a special place,” said Oceana Executive Vice President Jim Simon. “Just as people in the Hamptons are known for getting things done, Oceana achieves concrete and measurable policy changes to improve and protect life in the ocean.”
