Borough President of Manhattan Gale Brewer shares a Proclamation from the Borough of Manhattan for the International Day of Peace at our Times Square Peace Day Party Press Event on 9/15. International Day of Peace is September 21. Borough President Brewer, a Good News friend for many years is all about a peaceful life through her dedication for our community.
We are proud to acknowledge those organizations and individuals that have remained committed to improving our city and vibrantly enriching the community; and
for the past thirteen years September 21st has served as the International Day of Peace in Manhattan and has served Manhattan residents by hosting peace gatherings and festivals to promote world peace and ecology; and
the City’s residents of all walks of life gathered in central park to strengthen their message to the United Nations and world leaders a year after the horrific acts of September 11th, 2001 that the discussion should be about peace and not war; and
