Paul McCartney & Friends: Change Begins Within benefit concert
With performances by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Eddie Vedder, Donovan, Sheryl Crow, Ben Harper, Moby, Bettye LaVette and Jim James.Paul McCartney is on a tear, nearly 50 years after he began playing music. The reaction to his 2007 album, Memory Almost Full, was largely (and sometimes giddily) positive. Memory Almost Full was followed up with Electric Arguments, the third album by the so-called Firemen, McCartney’s experimental collaboration between himself and producer, Youth. Now, McCartney is headlining Coachella. There’s no telling how he’ll go over with the young fans camping out in the California desert, but McCartney has a certain charisma, to be sure. Here, he’ll headline a “Change Begins Within benefit concert, which serves to benefit the David Lynch Foundation. Others on the bill, to espouse the wisdom of meditation, include Ringo Starr, Eddie Vedder, Donovan, Sheryl Crow, Ben Harper, Moby, Bettye Lavette, Paul Horn and Jim James.
