Resorts World Casino New York City is celebrating the life of Louis Armstrong, a jazz pioneer. To commemorate Armstrong’s birthday, August 4, Resorts World Casino will unveil an art exhibit at 10 am, on August 3, in its Fifth Avenue Casino Atrium.
Synonymous with jazz, Armstrong’s influence on the musical genre is far reaching. His inventiveness, spontaneity and technique set Armstrong apart making him an artist ahead of his time.
“Though Armstrong was born in New Orleans, it was Queens, he chose to call home,” said Michael Speller, Resorts World Casino president. “Louis Armstrong’s contribution to jazz and the American landscape is unparallel. We are thrilled to host this tribute to Louis Armstrong.”
Comprised of iconic photos, the exhibit showcases Louis Armstrong at his historic home in Corona, with other legendary entertainers and in his travels around the world with his wife and his constant companion, his trumpet.
