Multi-talented actress, singer, television host, playwright, songwriter and author Kathie Lee Gifford hosted this year’s Broadway on Broadway, Sunday, September 9th. It was presented by United Airlines and The New York Times. The event kicked off the 2012-2013 Broadway season with star performances, from new shows and long-running favorites.
Appearances and performances included “Falling Slowly” from Once, “It’s All Happening” from Bring It On: The Musical, “Brooms” from Stomp, “For Such a Time as This” from Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson, “Boy Falls From the Sky” from SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off the Dark, “Are You There?” from Bare, plus a special Nederlander 100th anniversary celebration.
This annual, free outdoor concert was at the crossroads of the world, which brings together stars and performances from current and upcoming Broadway productions to celebrate the beginning of the new Broadway season. Times Square was a big block party with hundreds of attendees between 46th & 47th streets between Broadway and Seventh Avenue.
