Hi, Paul-I want you to know that you and your friends are especially invited to our band’s annual homecoming concert for friends and activists at Peoples’ Voice Café in NYC, SAT, APR 5, 2014 at 8 pm. It’s in Community Church, 40 E. 35th St (west of Park Ave), NYC 10016. This is our favorite show of the entire year, packed with way cool people, energy and surprises! And we’re very excited that we’ll all get to hear Autumn and Ernie, our truly exceptional musical guests.
Here’s the venue’s description of what to expect:
Join band membersBarry Kornhauser, Ellen Davidson, Gina Tlamsa, Ivice & Ray with piano virtuoso Rick Ulfik for the Ray Korona Band’s annual homecoming concert for friends and activists! Lots of new songs on current social justice issues, love, life and survival! Enjoy a musical celebration of Pete Seeger, the Raging Grannies, fearless demonstrators, workers, environmentalists and all those taking a stand for a better world. Not to mention the band’s fabulous acoustic instrumentation, polished vocal harmonies and a special guest set by Kicking Down Doors featuring Autumn Walden & Ernie Tokay! peoplesvoicecafe.org; raykorona.com; kickingdowndoorsband.com
Money: The venue’s requested payment at the door is $18 (or a bargain members rate), but you won’t be turned away because you’re having a bad hair day or the cash fell out of your wallet on the way to the club. Peoples’ Voice and the Ray Korona Band want YOU, though we’ll also take whatever we can get to keep ourselves in organic tofu corn dogs.
Sing with us on stage: Learn the chorus melody or a harmony to the Peoples’ Voice Café theme song and join us to sing it together on stage if you’re ready to rock!
Health note: I’ll be at the concert, of course, in great shape and ready to play as always! After another couple weeks though, I’ll take a health vacation for awhile to complete the course of treatment I’ve been having. After that, look out for lots of new songs, vids and a new CD and digital album!
